About Us
In 2018 we became a valuable part of the Steel Dynamics Flat Roll team. Located in Terre Haute, Indiana, SDI Heartland Division produces various types of value-added, flat rolled steel by further processing hot-rolled coils into pickle and oiled, cold rolled and galvanized products.
SDI Heartland Division has the annual capability to pickle and cold-reduce one million tons, with the ability to galvanize 360,000 tons. Our facility is comprised of a continuous pickle line, a two-stand reversing cold mill, batch annealing bases, a temper mill and a galvanizing line. The geographic proximity of the SDI Heartland Division to Steel Dynamics’ other flatroll operations provides opportunities related to logistics and production efficiencies throughout the supply chain and customer network.
Steel Dynamics Operations
Steel Dynamics is comprised of its Flat Roll Group that produces various flat roll products as well as its Long Products Group that produces structural shapes, specialty shapes, rail, engineered- and merchant-bar products.
In addition to the Flat Roll Group and Long Products Group, Steel Dynamics includes OmniSource, an extensive metals-procurement and recycling division, and New Millennium Building Systems which produces steel joist and deck products.
