Sustainability
At the SDI Flat Roll Group Heartland Division, we understand that being concerned about how we impact the environment around us is an extremely important part of doing business in today’s world. To that end, the SDI Heartland Division is committed to reducing landfill waste and pollution by implementing a recycling program for plastic, paper and metal, as well as a reclamation program for oil absorbents. Additionally, all the steel scrap we produce is recycled and transformed into new steel. By significantly reducing our own waste, we’re working to ensure that the world we live in exists for many years to come.
We’re committed to environmental quality and so many commits to being a good corporate citizens. This commitment is reflected in our health, safety and environmental policies, our key values and our initiatives. We share the common goals of safe and healthy working conditions, pollution prevention, conservation of natural resources, reduction of greenhouse gases and the implementation of effective waste management. We adhere to all environmental regulations and seek to use the best available environmental technology.
U.S. Green Building Council
SDI is also a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, and our customers can earn LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) credits by using many of our products.
